Residents in west Stirlingshire are being warned ahead of a month-long road closure as work to install fresh water mains takes place.

Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA), on behalf of Scottish Water, will be commissioning a new water main in Cuilts Road – on the B821 between Carbeth and Blanefield.

As a result of the works, which are set to begin on January 8, Scottish Water is advising customers and road users in the Carbeth area of road traffic management during its project to improve water services to more than 54,000 people in parts of west Stirlingshire, East Dunbartonshire, and West Dunbartonshire.

To enable the work to be carried out, a road closure on Cuilts Road will be in place during the work for around four weeks.

The affected stretch of the road is about 100 metres past Carbeth Guthrie Estates.

Access for residents will be maintained from the east.

A Scottish Water spokesperson said: “We have liaised with the local authority when planning this work and will do everything possible to minimise any disruption or inconvenience to customers and road users. We thank them in advance for their patience and understanding.”
