Police have entered the building at Cranston & Edwards law firm in Morgantown.(WDTV)

MORGANTOWN, W.Va (WDTV) – UPDATE (12/16 at 5:45 p.m.): Authorities on scene at the armed stand-off at Cranston & Edwards in Morgantown say they believe the gunman is the only person in the building.

As of 5:45, no shots have been fired by either the gunman or the police as the stand-off continues into its fifth hour.

UPDATE (12/16 at 3:15 p.m.): The armed stand-off between police and a gunman at Cranston & Edwards law firm is entering its third hour.

Authorities have not provided an update on any discussions with the suspect. At this time, no information — including name or motive — has been released for the gunman.

5 News is in constant contact with authorities to learn more about this developing situation.

UPDATE (12/16 at 2:15 p.m.): Police have confirmed that a man with a gun is inside Cranston & Edwards law firm.

There are no employees inside, however, according to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department.

Police are continuing to go into the office and swarm around the building.

Any conversations between the gunman and the police are unknown at this time.

ORIGINAL: There is a large police presence at Cranston & Edwards law firm in Morgantown.

Police entered the building with guns drawn, and a perimeter has been set up around the building on Dorsey Avenue.

Authorities arrived on scene around 12:30 p.m., according to Monongalia County 911 officials.

The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department, the Morgantown Police Department and the West Virginia State Police are all on scene.
