A former makeup artist has lifted the lid on affordable products that are just as good as makeup you’d find in luxury shops.
Danielle Kate Wroe, who used to work as a counter manager at Estée Lauder, believes you don’t need to break the bank in order to look glamorous. That’s because there are plenty of beauty buys on the high-street that get the job done just as well.
With that being said, Danielle listed the eyeliner, foundation and eyeshadows that she loves. There are five products in particular that she raves about – so here’s what you should consider adding into your basket this Christmas…
1. Maybelline Hyper Precise All Day Wear Liquid Eyeliner, £7.99
Danielle boldly declared: “This eyeliner is literally the best one I’ve ever tried”. Why, you may ask?
She added: “It doesn’t smudge, it gives the perfect, precise line, as it promises, and it literally lasts all day and night without transferring on your eyelids…
“It also lasts really well without drying out, and you can create as thin or thick a line as you prefer. I’ve definitely used liners in the past that haven’t allowed for a super thin line, so with this, you get the best of both worlds.”
2. Collection Lasting Perfection Satin Foundation, £7.99
If you’re a fan of dewey foundations that give you a healthy glow, this affordable option could be for you. Apparently, it looks lovely on the skin and doesn’t look too thick or cakey.
Danielle said: “It doesn’t settle into any places you don’t want it to or cake around the nose, and just gives you the perfect glowy but not shiny complexion.”
3. Rimmel Multi-Tasker Better Than Filters, £12.99
If you like Charlotte Tilbury’s luxurious Flawless Filter product, you’ll probably enjoy this. As the name would suggest, it makes you look picture perfect in no time.
Danielle said: “This product is literally like Botox in a bottle. I personally only put it on my forehead because I have quite oily skin, so I don’t want to make myself look shiny, but it really does make a difference. It smooths and gives a plumping effect to the skin.”
4. e.l.f Halo Glow Blush Beauty Wand, shade Rosé You Slay, £9
Beauty fan Danielle is a fan of this product because it’s both pretty and practical. If you’re a beginner with makeup, it could really help you to up your game.
She said: “This is an absolutely gorgeous blusher that adds a gorgeous flush of pink colour to the cheeks but also uses highlighting properties. It’s so easy to use, thanks to the cushion applicator, and can be literally drawn on the face in a circle and then easily blended out.”
5. Jordana Ticica Twinkle Tower Eyeshadow Topper, £16 for four shades
It’s the season for sparkles – so this is definitely a product you should consider putting on your Christmas wish list. Not only will it help you to stand out at any party, it’s also really easy to use.
Danielle revealed: “My mind was blown when I tried the eye toppers, and it truly does “add an ethereal dimension to any eye look”. There are three shades within the Twinkle Tower: Icy, Gilded, Posey, and Nova. My personal favourite is Gilded.”
