King Charles is set to host the Royal Family for their annual pre-Christmas lunch but the monarch will reportedly make one huge change this year.
It’s understood that the 76-year-old will play host at Buckingham Palace this year after holding the event at Windsor Castle for the past two years.
Royal guests expected to be in attendance include the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Mike and Zara Tindall, Princess Anne as well as Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.
Prince William and Kate Middleton may also attend with their three children if they haven’t already retreated to their Norfolk home of Anmer Hall for the school holidays, HELLO! reports.
The late Queen Elizabeth’s cousins also usually make an appearance including Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, the Duke of Kent and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
Back in 2019, Mike Tindall unveiled some unexpected details about the gathering.
Speaking on a podcast, he said: “I didn’t drink actually, this is the other one, the family lunch there must be about 70 of us there – there are seven tables and the kiddies have their own little one in a different room. I was on [then] Prince Charles’ table. It was lovely, really good.”

The Sunday Times reports that the King’s brother, Prince Andrew, has been asked to make a discreet arrival and exit from the party amid his latest controversy.
It was revealed by a court last week that the Duke of York had a connection to an alleged Chinese spy who has been banned from the UK on the grounds of national security.
The man entered Buckingham Palace twice and also visited St James’s Palace and Windsor Castle at the invitation of the duke.
Andrew insisted he had “ceased all contact” with the businessman on Friday after concerns were first raised about him.
He is believed to have met the individual through “official channels” with “nothing of a sensitive nature ever discussed” according to a statement from his office.
The Buckingham Palace lunch is an invite to extended family members of the monarch who are not able to attend the Christmas gathering at Sandringham.
