MERCER COUNTY, W.Va. – The Mercer County Coalition of Healthy Communities is running a drive to help people stay warm this winter.

The Heads, Hands, and Toes Drive is running from Dec. 15 to Jan. 1, 2025 and is looking for new socks and gently used hats and gloves.

A member of the Coalition and Communications Manager of Community Connections, Callie Lamb, says the drive will hopefully fill a need for the community.

“We know that there is a huge effort around clothing drives in this area in terms of coat drives. We were super excited to be able to fill a need that we felt there was a gap in with the gloves, hats and socks,” said Lamb. “We are really excited to be able to perform some outreach for the community in a way that they might not be getting with the existing efforts.”

Items can be dropped off at Community Connections on Monday through Wednesday between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., or at Service Cleaners on Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
