A number of Netflix viewers have expressed their confusion over what they perceive as a ‘huge plot hole’ in the streaming platform’s latest series. No Good Deed centres around a married couple, Paul and Lydia Morgan, who are attempting to sell their family home. As it transpires, while various couples vie for ownership of the prime property, the house conceals some dark secrets.

The series stars Friends veteran Lisa Kudrow and Ray Romano, best known for his role in Everybody Loves Raymond. It is ultimately disclosed that their characters’ son met his tragic end within the house. While this fact could potentially deter potential buyers, the circumstances leading up to the tragic demise of the teenager pose even more questions, reports the Mirror.

From the creator of another Netflix success, Dead To Me, the eight-episode series is packed with unexpected twists and turns. The final episode of the Netflix show finally reveals the truth about the ill-fated night. However, fans have highlighted certain aspects that they think could be significant plot holes. Be aware, the following includes spoilers for the conclusion of No Good Deed.

While the grieving parents, portrayed by Kudrow and Romano, initially think their daughter is responsible for their son’s tragic death, mistaking him as an intruder, the twist in the plot reveals otherwise. In a shocking turn of events, it transpires that their neighbour, with whom the son was romantically involved, is the actual perpetrator of the crime.

However, several details didn’t quite make sense. A perceptive fan took to Reddit to voice their confusion: “Okay anyone notice the HUGE plot hole where the nosy old lady neighbour sent the video of the district attorney in their backyard EXACTLY where the murder took place three years ago? That means nosy old lady potentially knew who shot the kid! And had it on video? “.

The thread attracted further speculation, with fellow fans pondering whether the observant neighbour’s cameras were only installed post-murder, a detail not clarified within the series. Adding to the mystery, some fans highlighted a discrepancy concerning the number of shots fired at Jacob.

It was eventually discovered that there were two different bullet casings found at the scene, as two guns were actually fired. Notably, neither the family nor law enforcement appear to realise this at the time.

One viewer voiced their perplexity by commenting: “I’m a bit confused on the daughter not shooting her brother part. Like we saw her shoot and there were two casings, so she did shoot him then? Why are they acting like him getting shot in the back at the same time changed that? I’m so confused like would that not have killed him anyways? “

Someone else observed the inconsistency with the location of the shell casings, pointing out that the real killer shot from outside, saying: “I’m confused too, they showed two casings side-by-side one being 40 Cal one being 9 mm, so they did find two casings. They would have found a 40 Cal outside the house which would’ve been a giveaway there was another shooter. They had something in the box, they had something in the pillowcase, can’t remember what they were exactly. Then they would’ve found the bullet that the sister shot, but missed. Doesn’t make sense.”

Echoing the sentiment, another concurred, remarking: “I noticed this too. If Margo shot him then the casing would be outside and not indoors where Paul’s brother could have found it while cleaning up. So lame! ” Despite these unresolved plot points, the series continues to captivate audiences as its currently the third most-watched programme on Netflix in the UK.
