GREENBRIER COUNTY, W.Va. – A group of high school students in Greenbrier County honored veterans recently by participating in the national Wreaths Across America program.

Greenbrier East and Greenbrier West JROTC students visited several cemeteries in the area to place wreaths and plaques in honor of Greenbrier county veterans.

Students who are part of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers afterschool program, called GoGreenbrier, helped with the project, as well as students in carpentry and stem classes.

Vicky Cline, the center’s program director telling us students from greenbrier west made the seven stands and seven plaques at west farm in Frankford from freshly-cut trees.

JROTC students from both schools placed the wreaths and plaques at six local cemeteries where members conducted the ceremony, demonstrating respect for veterans and responsible citizenship.
