Lanarkshire is to be battered by winds up to 60mph over the weekend after the Met Office issued a weather warning.
A period of strong gusts will move in on Saturday, which could lead to some transport disruption.
A yellow weather warning has been put in place from 7am until 9pm on Saturday.
The warning is in force in West Dunbartonshire, Argyll and Bute, Stirling, East Ayrshire, East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, Glasgow, Inverclyde, North Ayrshire, North Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, South Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire, Dumfries and Galloway, Aberdeenshire, Moray and the Highlands, as well as Northern Ireland.
A Met Office forecaster said: “Strong westerly winds are expected to develop through the course of Saturday, with gusts of 50-60mph developing quite widely across this region.
“This has the potential to cause delays to public transport and some disruption to the road network, which may have a greater than usual impact given the busier pre-Christmas weekend travel. Dangerous coastal conditions can be expected too, with large waves an additional hazard.”
