Ruben Amorim has told Marcus Rashford he wants him to STAY at Manchester United.

Rashford, 27, sensationally revealed last night that he wants to quit Old Trafford – days after being axed from Sunday’s 2-1 derby win at Man City. The one club-man – who is on a deal worth £350,000-a-week until 2028 – only signed his new contract 17 months ago. But the struggling frontman has endured a difficult couple of seasons in front of goal and was left out of England’s Euro 2024 squad.

Now, in a bombshell interview with Henry Winter, Rashford has made it clear that he wants to kickstart his career elsewhere. He said: “I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps. When I leave it’s going to be no hard feelings.”

The news could spark interest from long-term admirers PSG, Bayern Munich and Barcelona as United now stare at the possibility of selling one of their biggest stars to the highest bidder in next month’s transfer window. But speaking at today’s press conference, new boss Amorim made it clear that he sees Rashford as part of his plans and will hold talks with the wantaway ace today.

Asked if he had spoken to Rashford, he said: “No, not yet. I gave the lads the day off yesterday. He is ready to the next game. What I want is to take the best of Marcus Rashford as of all the other players. So I don’t talk about the future, just talk about the present. I want the best of each one of them and that is the the key point for me. I just want to win and to help the team to be better, so we are better with Marcus Rashford, and that’s simple, and we try different things to push Marcus to the best level that he’s shown in the past, so that’s all.”

Asked to clarify if he wants Rashford to remain at the club, he added: “Of course, because this kind of club needs big talent and he’s a big talent. So we just need to perform at the highest level, and that is my focus. I just want to help Marcus.”
