An audiology team which provides care for locals in Wishaw are set to host an open day event in January.
The aim is to help the neighbouring community to understand the importance of hearing care, as well as to raise funds for local charities.
The Specsavers audiology team, located at their clinic in the Wishaw Holistic & Beauty Centre on Charles Street, Craigneuk, are keen to welcome residents from the Wishaw and Motherwell areas who have any questions about their hearing, hearing aids or what services the team provides to come along to the event.
Audiology director Christine Robertson and her team will be in attendance to meet and greet any residents, as well as offer demonstrations of hearing aids and offer half price ear wax removal on the day.
The open day, on January 22, will also offer hot drinks, sweet treats and a bake sale, raffle to win a selection of goods, all in efforts to raise funds for local community causes.
The Wishaw-based service at the holistic centre was established by the team to address the growing demand for audiology services in the local community.
Feedback from local residents who have been visiting the audiology team’s clinics in Specsavers stores in Wishaw and Motherwell advised that they sometimes struggled to get an appointment time to suit their needs.
Christine Robertson, Audiology Director for Specsavers at the site, said: “We’re finding that people are becoming more conscious of their own hearing, paying a visit to a local audiologist for their audiology concerns.
“Whether it’s about a new hearing aid or simply a question about their own hearing, we found that it’s vital for the local community to have a dedicated space which provides professional advice and expert care using the most up to date equipment and technology.
“We’d love to welcome all members of our local community to pay us a visit on our Open Day on the 22 January to find out more about how we regularly support people across Lanarkshire.
“They can also enjoy a hot drink, cake and a chat with our qualified hearing aid dispensers and audiology team about any questions they may have.
“We’ll also continue our dedication and support for the local community by raising funds for charity on the day.”
