BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – A top official in the City of Bluefield is facing charges after a reported domestic dispute.

Bluefield city treasurer Danny Dillow has been charged with domestic battery and obstructing after police were called to a home just after 9 pm on Dec. 18.

Few details are available but Bluefield’s Chief of Police, Dennis Dillow says Danny Dillow refused to allow police officers into the home and allow them to perform an investigation.

“Upon arrival of the officers it was found that Mr. Dillow had assaulted his wife. He was arrested, he was transported to the Bluefield Police Department where he was processed for the domestic situation and two counts of obstruction of an officer,” said Chief Dillow.

Chief Dillow says despite having the same last name he is not related to Danny Dillow as far as he is aware.

A special meeting by the Bluefield City Council was held on Thursday and Danny Dillow has been placed on paid administrative leave pending further investigation.

Danny Dillow is currently being held in Southern Regional Jail with a $5,000 cash/surety bond.
