REEDSVILLE, W.Va (WDTV) – A fire caused massive damage at the WVU J.W. Ruby Research Farm near Reedsville Friday.
The fire occurred at approximately 12:50 p.m. in the horse barn, according to the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office.
No livestock or persons were injured as a result of the fire.
It is believed that the fire originated in a piece of equipment that was parked in one of the exterior stalls of the horse barn. The fire then spread to the barn and caused an estimated $1,000,000 in damages, officials said.
The fire has been ruled accidental by State Fire Marshal investigators.
