RALEIGH COUNTY, W.Va. – Rainbow Pediatrics in Beaver, West Virginia will join the WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital network of healthcare clinics. WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital (PCH) made the announcement on Dec. 19.

The location will be the second PCH pediatrics clinic, and the first clinic in Raleigh County.

While the final approvals are ongoing, which are estimated to be done in the first half of 2025, Rainbow Pediatrics will welcome new and existing patients.

Dr. John Fernald, MD, who founded Rainbow Pediatrics, will continue as its primary physician. With more than 22 years of experience in pediatrics, Fernald is a 2001 graduate of the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine and served in the Army in Iraq.

“WVU Medicine is a highly respected health system that is leading the way in improving the quality of care throughout our state,” said Fernald. “My staff and I are eager to embrace the opportunities this partnership will bring to our patients.”
