BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va (WDTV) – A West Virginia teacher has been arrested for physically assaulting a 6-year-old female student, according to West Virginia State Police.
Jazmyn Rohrer, a teacher in Morgan County, has been arrested and charged with three counts of child abuse creating a substantial risk of injury.
Rohrer is a teacher at Widmyer Elementary School in Berkeley Springs, police said.
Police were called to the school on Wednesday, December 12th at 2 p.m. in reference to an assault complaint received from the Morgan County Board of Education.
The school made a post on their Facebook page about the incident and said that an incident was captured on video. As required by state law, Rohrer was immediately removed from the classroom and a mandatory report of potential abuse was made to the appropriate state agencies, officials said.
Rohrer was arraigned, has been released on bail and is not currently teaching at the school, officials said.
