Strictly Come Dancing’s Chris McCausland has shared details about his pro partner Dianne Buswell’s struggle with illness during the BBC show.
The duo, who triumphed in the 2024 series, wowed judges and audiences alike with their impressive routines and lovable dynamic. Chris opened up about their journey on BBC’s The One Show on Friday (December 20), where he appeared alongside fellow comic Lee Mack to chat about their new film, Bad Tidings.
Before discussing the festive flick with hosts Alex Jones and Lauren Laverne, talk naturally turned to Strictly success. As a clip of Chris and Dianne’s dance played, Lee, who had witnessed the duo clinch the Glitterball trophy on December 14, teased Chris about his white outfit from an iconic performance.

He joked: “I was just watching that clip again of you dressed in that white suit, which is a very brave colour for a man of your age, Chris.”
Chris then candidly revealed, “That white suit was for the couples choice and the first time we did that Dianne had been up all night with a virus out of both ends so it was very brave to wear white the first time around.”

Presenters Alex and Lauren and comedian Lee were taken aback by former Scared Of The Dark contestant Chris’ candid revelation regarding Dianne, which prompted Lee to jest: “Oh the glamour. At least you’re not telling everyone on national television ey.”, reports Surrey Live.
However, funny man Chris responded with a quick-witted retort, dismissing his remark: “This is pre-recorded isn’t it?”

In Chris and Lee’s latest film, Bad Tidings, characters Neil (played by Lee Mack) and Scott (portrayed by Chris McCausland) end up in a comical battle for the position of head of the neighbourhood watch and the honour of organising the Christmas lights display.
The One Show airs weeknights on BBC One at 7pm
