George Ezra has become a father for the first time after welcoming his newborn with his girlfriend earlier this month.

The Shotgun singer was recently seen in public for the first time after the birth with his partner and their little bundle of joy while out and about in Hertford.

A pal of the star told The Sun: “George is ecstatic about becoming a dad. It’s been such an exciting time for him and this Christmas is going to be very memorable for him. George is in a great place and is enjoying being a hands on dad.”

In pictures obtained by The Sun, the 31-year-old was seen carrying the tot while he headed out to the shops to buy some essential supplies including nappies and Brewdog lager.

George, whose last album Gold Rush Kid became his third No1 album in June 2022, suffered a difficult time last year after he was diagnosed with acute vertigo, which left him unable to perform live.

Acute vertigo is a sudden feeling of spinning or movement, and can be caused by a number of conditions.

The dad-of-one had been touring to promote Gold Rush Kid but was forced to cancel shows after feeling so unwell.

The singer then took a proper break to recover and broke his social media silence earlier this summer to mark the ten year anniversary of his debut album, Wanted On Voyage.

Close friends of the star claim he was planning on extending his break into the New Year before getting back to music.

One commented: “George took time out to focus on his health and now he’s become a dad, he wants to enjoy every moment of that experience. He is focusing on what is really important in his life and that is his partner and their baby.”
