A coroner has recorded an open conclusion into the cause of death of TV doctor Michael Mosley after he fell and died while on holiday on a Greek Island.
The broadcaster and columnist, 67, was reported missing after going for a walk on the island of Symi on June 5. His disappearance sparked a four-day search, after which his body was found.
Senior coroner for Buckinghamshire, Crispin Butler, said he was unable to confirm a medical cause for his death, describing it as “unascertainable”.
The coroner’s written evidence said his death was not due to homicide, suicide or an accident relating to injuries.
A section of the findings read: “Michael’s death was most likely attributable either to heatstroke (accidental) or a non-identified pathological cause. There was nothing of note in toxicology. No medical cause of death could be ascertained, meaning Michael’s death may have been due to a medical event or as a result of a non-traumatic accident.”
