CEDAR BLUFF, Va. -Friday some southwest Virginia residents got together for a festive Christmas ball.
Senior citizens from Appalachian Agency for Seniors Center held their third annual Christmas ball at the Arts Center in Cedar Bluff.
There were around forty residents from three adult day centers from Tazewell, Dickenson, Russell, and Buchanan counties.
The residents, fifty-five years old and older, were treated to appetizers along with a full Christmas dinner, live music, and gifts.
Activity Director Cindy Smith tells us that a lot of these people do not have family to see during the holidays and this gathering is like a true family Christmas for them.
“A lot of our seniors don’t have family and in the adult day center they have become family to one another, and they enjoy this as their holiday and their time of fellowship and to them it is family.”
Smith adds that it has been a true pleasure for the staff to be able to provide these folks with a good Christmas.
