A primary school is in lockdown after a “minor student” stabbed a teacher and wounded several others. Emergency services, including an ambulance and a helicopter were dispatched to the scene at Precko in Zagreb, Croatia, with the chopper landing in the school’s playground.
Children were hurriedly evacuated from the premises amid reports the school was “under siege”, reports the Mirror, leaving some pupils stranded on site. The incident has left students and staff “in shock”, according to Dnevnik.hr, with many “in tears” as they await collection by their parents.
Details of the assault remain scarce as local police have not yet released an official statement, but there is said to be a significant emergency response, featuring “at least six ambulances”.
Dnevnik.hr also noted authorities “are not providing any information at this time”, highlighting the violent episode occurred just before the Christmas break, marking the end of the first school term.
