The UK public has named the brand that “Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without,” with a former Strictly Come Dancing star backing the pick.

Quality Street has been crowned the food and drink brand Scots and their UK counterparts associate most with the festive season for another year running, according to research conducted by OnePoll earlier this month.

The confectionary brand was also named the top brand for gifting, with a 38 per cent increase in its popularity amongst voters aged 25-34 compared to last year.

Barrister and TV personality Rob Rinder, a 2016 Strictly contestant and now part-time Good Morning Britain host, collaborated with Quality Street on some sustainability initiatives recently, and understands people’s love for it.

“I love a good trial so lending my expertise to this case was a pleasure,” Judge Rinder said.

“Despite compelling arguments from both sides, there was only ever going to be one verdict – Quality Street… Now we’ve settled that, the court is dismissed, and everyone can enjoy their Christmas.”

Brits were surveyed on the special role of food and drink bands during the holidays. The research found that 46 per cent of the public see chocolate as an ‘affordable luxury’ that brings them back to their favourite brands each year.

“We are so proud that the UK public has recognised Quality Street as the food and drink brand that Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without,” Lisa Butterworth, Brand Manager for Quality Street.

“Each year, Quality Street brings people their favourite sweets in special tins, tubs and pouches that let people embrace a family favourite tradition.

“We never lose sight of the special place that Quality Street has in people’s hearts… we do all we can to give our beloved customers the best of our brand.”

It comes after the Express counted each chocolate in the four most popular chocolate tubs on the market – Quality Street, Cadbury’s Roses, Cadbury’s Heroes, and Celebrations – to see how much bang you get for your buck.
