Alfredo Morelos was branded a ‘murderer’ by a coach in Colombia – with the man who launched the scathing tirade hit with a four-game ban and a £1,000 fine. And it came just a day after the Rangers hero was accused of being DRUNK during a game.
The ex-Ibrox star has spent more time on the front pages than the back in his homeland since returning to Colombia with Atletico Nacional, on loan from Brazilian side Santos. He was hit with a charge of drink driving following an accident with a motorbike rider, although Morelos has challenged the findings. And Millonarios FC coach Felipe Palmezano was hauled up before the Colombian FA disciplinary board for calling Morelos a ‘murderer’ during a match.
The Colombian FA’s report stated: “At half-time, the visiting team’s coach, Felipe Palmezano, shouted ‘murderer’ three times at the player Alfredo Morelos, provoking the members of the home team.”
The coach has been fined just less than £1.000 and banned for four games. This week, Morelos was called a ‘drunk’ by former Aberdeen keeper David Gonzalez when he was about to enter the pitch as a sub. The current Deportes Tolima manager later apologised for his outburst to Morelos, who did not accept it.
Morelos said: “He knows what he said. Tell him that we will see each other in Medellín to see if he has the balls to say it again.”
