TV and radio star Fearne Cotton has expressed her gratitude for her successful recovery after undergoing surgery to remove two benign tumours from her jaw.
The 43-year-old Happy Place podcast host shared that the experience has served as a reminder to “slow down and look after myself”.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, she marvelled at the human body’s resilience, saying: “The human body is incredible. In less than three weeks you can barely notice where I had the tumour removed.
“I feel almost normal. My ear is still quite numb and my face a little tender but other than that I’m feeling good.”

Cotton shared four images of her healing process, cautioning her followers to only swipe if they were comfortable seeing the stages of healing. She described the process as fascinating and expressed relief that the tumour was benign and the operation went well.
She praised her surgeon, Professor Oflynn, and the nursing staff, particularly Nurse Jackie, who encouraged her to rest while in hospital. She concluded by expressing gratitude for her healing and said she would wear her scar with pride as a reminder to take care of herself.
A benign tumour is a non-cancerous cell mass that typically remains in one place and can be safely removed surgically.
Following her announcement of surgery on Instagram, former Big Brother presenter Davina McCall shared a comment, telling Fearne Cotton she was sending “so much healing and love”. Back in November, at the age of 57, McCall had undergone an operation to take out a colloid cyst – a rare kind of benign tumour filled with fluid, located in the brain.
Cotton has said she is “not only lucky” to count McCall as a “good mate but also a beacon of light and positivity when it comes to this stuff”. Earlier, Cotton disclosed that she and her spouse Jesse Wood will be “ending our marriage” after a decade.
She tied the knot with Wood, son of Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood, back in July 2014, and together they have two kids, Rex and Honey. Kickstarting her career in the late ’90s, Cotton became known for hosting children’s TV on GMTV, CITV, and CBBC.
She’s also been the face of Radio 1’s Chart Show, The Xtra Factor, Top Of The Pops, and appeared as a panelist on ITV’s Celebrity Juice. Currently, she can be heard on BBC Radio 2, presenting Sounds Of The 90s with Fearne Cotton.
