German broadcaster SPORT1 are a huge part of the Paddy Power World Darts Championship.
The channel were nominated for Best Sports Programme at the 2023 German Television Awards following their coverage of the 2023 showpiece at the Ally Pally. There’s a full team here in London offering in-depth coverage to the viewers back in their homeland with a host of top German players to focus upon involved in the tournament.
Tour ace Max Hopp is part of expert team and, when the matches are finished, the players head to the channel’s own sectioned interview area. The backdrop features a massive montage to the past champions and a Route to the Final map. In addition, with the mascot for the channel’s darts coverage a pig, there are caricatures of various competing stars.
Fans can buy these Phrase Pigs as ornaments designed to their favourite stars which act as money banks and darts holders and they have printed the images onto the poster.
