A man has died following a medical emergency in a Scots supermarket car park.

First responders were called to Tesco Extra in Corstorphine, Edinburgh after eye witnesses reported seeing a car crash through multiple barriers and a trolley storage unit.

Edinburgh Live reports that the incident took place around 8.40am on Sunday, December 22.

Police confirmed that a man was taken to hospital following the incident and has since passed away.

They stated that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Sunday December 22 2024, we were called to assist with a medical matter at Meadow Place Road, Edinburgh.

“A man was taken to hospital where he died a short time later.

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

The Scottish Ambulance Service and Tesco have been approached for comment.
