PRINCETON, W.Va. – In Princeton, a local motorcycle club is doing its part this Christmas season, once again helping to make sure the region’s kids celebrate properly.
Every year, the Brothers of the Wheel Motorcycle Club host the “Children’s Christmas Charity” event to ensure everyone has a merry Christmas.
Donning leather and denim jackets, the club members took to the aisles of Walmart to fill up shopping carts with toys, clothes, shoes and more for local kids. This year, the club was able to shop for approximately 130 children.
By working closely with the state’s Department of Health and Human Resources, they were able to identify some of the most in-need children in our region. The club’s National Vice President, “Doc” Vaughan, said that this is all about supporting the communities they’re a part of.
“We’re just a big family. We’re just a big happy family and we like to help people and help our community, and do what we can for the good of the neighborhood,” said Vaughan.
The Vice President of the Highlands Chapter of the club, “Sarge” Robinette, says the charity work they do is their focus all year-round.
“My brothers are all into this. That’s the reason I got into this club to start with, because of what we do for our charity,” said Robinette. “The charity is our priority all year long. But [at] Christmas, it just all comes to a head for us.”
The Children’s Christmas Charity operates on donations from the community, as well as fundraisers. For more information, you can click here.
