North Crowley connected on a 75-yard touchdown on the first play from scrimmage, indicating how the rest of the night would go.

ARLINGTON, Texas — North Crowley pummeled the Westlake Chaparrals 50-21 in the UIL 6A Division I State Championship on Saturday evening at AT&T Stadium.

North Crowley entered the state championship game on the heels of a dramatic 36-34 victory over defending champion Duncanville.

From the start of this one, it was all Panthers. On the first play from scrimmage, quarterback Chris Jimerson connected with wide receiver Quentin Gibson for a 75-yard touchdown. Westlake responded with a touchdown of their own to make it 7-7, but the Panthers continued to roll. 

North Crowley scored 28 unanswered points to grow their lead to 35-7. The Chapperals were eventually able to get on the board again halfway through the third quarter, however, the Panthers scored again, making it 43-14. 

Both teams scored again in the fourth quarter, pushing the final score to 50-21 in favor of North Crowley. 

This win cements North Crowley’s perfect 16-0 season in the history books and gives the Panthers their first state title in over two decades.
