Robert Maudsley, known as Britain’s most dangerous killer, has spent the last 50 Christmases in a cell. This year, details of his Christmas day meal have been revealed.

The 71 year old, who is responsible for four murders over a span of four years, remains in Wakefield prison where he reportedly spends 23 hours a day in solitary confinement. Born in Liverpool in 1953, Maudsley committed his first murder in 1974, killing John Farrell, a child abuser.

In 1977, while at Broadmoor Hospital, Maudsley and another inmate murdered child molester David Francis. After being transferred to HMP Wakefield, he killed two more inmates.

Consequently, Maudsley was convicted of three counts of murder and one count of manslaughter. Deemed too dangerous to be housed with other prisoners, his current cell was specially constructed, reports the Express.

Despite his circumstances, like all other inmates, Maudsley will receive a full Christmas dinner. According to prison documents, this is what will be on the menu:

  • Vegan Schnitzels
  • Vegetarian Peppered Veg Pie
  • Sliced Turkey
  • Half Roast Chicken
  • Halal Half Roast Chicken
  • Roast/New Potatoes
  • Carrots & Sprouts
  • Pigs in Blankets
  • Christmas Pudding
  • White Sauce Vegan Christmas Pudding
  • White Sauce Apple

He will spend December 25 alone in his underground glass cell, equipped with bulletproof windows, a table and chair made from compressed cardboard, a toilet and sink bolted to the floor, and a door with a small slot at the bottom for food delivery. His 2021 appeal to spend Christmas with other inmates was denied.

The Mirror has reported that the convict expressed a wish “to spend Christmas in the presence of other humans” which was denied. Featuring on Channel 5’s Evil Behind Bars, Maudsley’s nephew, Gavin disclosed: “He’s asking to be on his own because he knows what can happen.”

He continued, providing chilling insight, “Put him on a wing surrounded by rapists and paedophiles – I know this because he told us – he was going to kill as many paedophiles as he could. I’m not condoning what he did.”

Gavin then remarked on the gravity of his uncle’s past actions, saying, “He did very bad things. But he didn’t kill a child or woman. An innocent person didn’t go to work that day and never returned home. The people he killed were really bad people.”
