Wishaw Community Police officers ran a Festive Vehicle Policing Action Plan.

During a week of festive vehicle policing from December 10 to 19, Wishaw CP conducted a series of proactive measures to ensure road safety and compliance with traffic laws.

The operation included vehicle stops and moving vehicle checks; breath tests; co-ordination with North Lanarkshire Council on parking issues and high visibility presence on roads with known speeding issues.

This resulted in 149 moving vehicle checks, 54 vehicle stops and nine negative breath tests.

However, three vehicles that were stopped had no insurance while three had no MOT.

There was also one stolen vehicle recovered, a vehicle registration offence reported and one child seatbelt offence reported.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Overall the coordinated efforts aimed to enhance public safety, reduce traffic incidents and promote responsible driving during the holiday period.”
