Blind mystic Baba Vanga, famed for her precognitive powers and widely known in Eastern Europe, has seemingly made several accurate predictions that resonate with events of this year.

The Bulgarian clairvoyant, also known as Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova, was born in 1911 and became blind at the tender age of 12 following a storm. It is after this tragic incident that she purportedly gained the ability to foresee future events, maintaining a significant following until her death in 1996.

Among her visions for 2024 were hints of an economic downturn sparking worldwide tension, which somewhat aligns with current challenges where even in the UK – despite marginal economic growth – people are increasingly dependent on food banks amidst global financial strains, inflation, and job cuts.

While not an outright hit, there’s an argument to be made that Baba’s foresight was not without merit. Equally stirring is her prediction of an environmental plight this year: “environmental challenges” which seem to be borne out by the reality of unprecedented climatic conditions with 2024 poised to possibly become the hottest year recorded.

Extreme weather events have claimed countless lives worldwide. Recently, in Valencia, torrential rain triggered deadly floods that engulfed areas never before flooded, transforming streets into rapidly flowing rivers within minutes.

Meanwhile, several European countries, including Poland, Czechia, Austria, Romania, Hungary, Germany and Slovakia, experienced record rainfall in September. In the Americas, exceptionally warm ocean temperatures sparked an early category five storm, Hurricane Beryl, in June – the earliest on record, reports the Mirror.

It wreaked havoc across the Caribbean before hitting parts of Texas in July, causing storm surges. The typhoon season in the Philippines saw six massive storms in a month, impacting millions of people.

Extreme heat in Mexico resulted in hundreds of deaths, to mention a few instances from a devastating 12 months – just as Baba predicted. Another ominously accurate prediction was the medical advancements for cancer and Alzheimer’s.

In 2024, doctors developed new tests to detect cancer in those under 18 and in the treatment of cervical cancer. This year also brought new hope for Alzheimer’s patients as clinical trials showed the disease can be slowed.

In the UK, the first ever disease modifying treatments were approved for use.

One of her forecasts that has yet to materialise this year involves the use of biological weapons by a powerful nation. Despite the world teetering on the brink of war, largely due to Russia’s actions, it appears there are still lines they will not cross.

Her predictions for 2025 suggest that the coming year could be both thrilling and catastrophic. Baba predicts a conflict will erupt between two European nations at some point.

She also suggests that human telepathy will become a reality, and even more astonishingly, she believes aliens will make their first contact with humans – oddly enough, during a major sporting event.
