TAZEWELL, Va. – With Christmas only two days away, a Virginia family has travelled to Tazewell County to make a special holiday delivery.

On Monday, Dec. 23, a pair of grandparents and their grandchildren visited the Tazewell Police Department to drop off a truckload of toys.

The gifts were distributed between the Clinch Valley Head Start program and Tazewell County Social Services to be given to children in need.

The grandparents say this idea was all their grandkids’ doing, and their grandson, Jordan Blankenship, tells us it feels good to give back to the community.

“It kind of brings a warm feeling to the heart, getting to give back to kids that really don’t have anything, and it lets me know at the end of the day that I did something good for people in need, and makes us all feel real good,” said Blankenship. “But it’s not about us, it’s about- it’s more about them than anything, and getting to, I guess, bring stuff [to] these people that they don’t have.”
