Gogglebox star Giles has been branded ‘creepy’ by fans after revealing the bizarre personal gifts he’s given to women over Christmas.
While discussing his talent for picking out presents on the hit Channel 4 show with his wife Mary, following a segment on shoppers stockpiling gifts, Giles boasted: “I always give people very nice presents, but they’re very useful presents.”
However, Mary was quick to question his gifting, bringing up a strange moment in the past. She said: “I remember the year we went to stay with some people and there were five girls and you gave each one of them a free chlamydia test that you got from the doctor.”
Barely holding back her laughter. Giles defended his choice, saying: “I gave them a testing kit that I got free from the surgery. It seemed to kill two birds with one stone.”
This confession shocked viewers, as reported by the Mirror. The channel 4 segment stirred up a reaction from viewers when Giles presented his friends’ five daughters with chlamydia tests as Christmas gifts.
One shocked viewer took to social media, commenting: “Chlamydia Kit? Creepy.” Yet some fans found the quirky gift-giving funny, with one declaring: “So Giles on Gogglebox gave his friends’ five daughters a chlamydia test each as a Christmas gift… That man is a complete living legend!”
Another shared their amusement online: “Best start to #Gogglebox in a long time… #GilesandMary discussing Xmas gifts and Giles giving out chlamydia tests to the girls…. crying uncontrollably.”
