“You scumbag, you maggot” has never rung truer, as a quarter of Brits admit they will not wash for three days over Christmas.
A survey of around 2,000 people found that half will wear the same pair of underwear for more than a day, while 55 percent expect to stay in the same set of PJs for at least 24 hours.
Festive sluggishness is not confined to hygiene alone, as most revellers have no plans to cook after Christmas day, opting to survive on festive leftovers instead. Some admitted that they won’t even bother putting their food on the plate, and will scoff it straight from the fridge while watching an anticipated five hours of telly per day.

Fortunately others will be spared the whiff of unwashed revellers, as a fifth of Brits plan not to leave the house for five days between Christmas Day and New Year, the Daily Star reports. A further 22 percent of seasonal slobs will lie to loved ones to avoid socialising after December 25 – choosing instead to lounge in front of the telly at home.
The findings come as part of a survey conducted by Sky and NOW, which examined the festive pastimes and viewing habits of over-16s across the country.
Around two-thirds of the nation said that watching their favourite TV shows was their favourite way of spending the holiday. In fact, Brits will collectively spend 1.8 billion hours glued to the box in the six days between Christmas and New Year.
Jamie Morris, executive director of content strategy and performance at Sky, explained: “After a long year it’s clear to see that Brits are fully-embracing the no-man’s land that is Twixmas. Thankfully there’s some great telly to keep them company if they don’t fancy leaving the house, or even the sofa.”
More than half of Brits plan on starting and finishing a series within the space of several days, with a staggering 41 percent binge-watching all day without moving. Seasonal square-eyes said that their top choices for Christmas viewing will be the Harry Potter movie series, Game Of Thrones and Gangs Of London.
Morris added: “It’s the perfect time to put your feet up and enjoy the best of what Sky and NOW have on offer – be that new series, classic boxsets or something you’ve watched before. So get your festive PJs on, snack on the leftovers and watch some cracking television.”
