Viewers of The Chase are branding the show as “a fix” after noticing some unusual patterns in recent episodes.
On Friday’s episode (December 20) beloved host Bradley Walsh greeted a fresh group of contestants ready to face the Chasers. The contestants Linda, Sadie, Ian and Conor were eager to test their knowledge and win the cash prize.
They took on Chaser Anne Hegerty, better known on the show as The Governess, and viewers were shocked as she answered four questions incorrectly in the first found, which resulted in a poorly performing contestant getting into the final, reports Leeds Live.
But her unexpected slip-ups didn’t stop there.
This followed after Paul Sinha’s shocking performance on a previous episode, where he struggled with what seemed like simple questions, fans are beginning to speculate that something might be off.
Viewers took to social media, as one viewer questioned: “Why have the best chasers been so bad lately? it can’t be a coincidence? do you think ITV is doing it to make the show easier or better for the players? “
While another echoed the sentiment with “#thechase this must be a fix coz paul was terrible the other day too what is going on ITV? “.
More fans expressed their frustration writing “Is this Anne’s not-so-bright identical twin sister on the show? “, “What is Anne doing?!” and “Damn Anne, what’s going on? “
On the episode with Paul as the Chaser, Bradley Walsh was overheard questioning whether he “was going to get it wrong” before he indeed got it wrong, along with several other questions.
This has stirred up speculation among viewers, as the Chasers are usually difficult to beat.

“What a fu**ing fix this is,” one contestant complained. “That was 100% scripted them asking if they think the Chaser will get it wrong when in fact he gets it wrong. Classic ITV,” wrote another. Whilst a third chimed in: “Why did the chaser getting that wrong feel scripted? “
However, some viewers also pointed out that the Chaser is battling Parkinson’s disease and could have been having an off day. With one concerned fan noting: “Paul seems to be playing badly today. I hope he’s ok given his diagnosis.”
Another wrote: “Paul’s got Parkinsons remember people. He freely admits in his autobiography it will get worse but he’ll carry on quizzing for as long as he can.”
