AUSTIN, Texas — Monday was one of the busiest holiday travel days at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on Monday.
From the check-in counters to the security checkpoints, lines were crowded.
“We didn’t expect it to be this busy,” said passenger Brian Rak.
His family traveled from Austin to Chicago on Monday.
Despite the lines, the Rak family was in the holiday spirit, excited to see family.
“Now, it’s time to see the grandkids as much as possible, and see everyone and have a great time,” he said.
Airport officials are reminding travelers to be patient and get to the airport early. They recommend getting to the airport 2.5 hours before your flight.
