Rob Cross has said sorry after making a rude gesture at the World Darts Championship.
The 2018 world champion was involved in his second-round match against Scott Williams when the incident took place at the Ally Pally. Cross was walking off the stage at the end of the second set with the Sky TV cameras following his walk to the steps as he left before an interval in play.
As he did so, the Londoner glanced back out towards the area housing the crowd and made a motion which was captured by the cameras. Immediately, a clip of the moment was shared and spread across social-media with various individuals claiming it was of a rude nature.
Cross has now apologised for the incident. He used his social media platform to say: “Massively disappointed to lose out to my great friend Scott Williams. Good luck to him for the rest of the tournament.
“I made a gesture to my manager about how I annoyed I was with my performance. If it offended anyone, I apologise. Merry Christmas everyone.”
