It’s the question children around the world are dying to know on Christmas Eve – “Where is Santa Claus?”

As the countdown to Christmas narrows down to minutes, eager little ones will be bouncing with excitement. It turns out the answer to Father Christmas’ whereabouts is available at the click of a button – or by uttering a few magic words.

Sky customers can access the festive feature if they own a Sky Q box, a Sky Glass TV or Sky Stream. To unlock Santa’s location, simply pick up your Sky remote, press the voice search button and ask “Where’s Santa?” or “Where’s Father Christmas?”.

Alternatively, you can navigate to the tracker through the Apps section. In response, your TV will display Santa’s exact location to the delight of kids and adults alike.

Since it debuted the Santa tracker in 2020, Sky has created more features to help you get into the festive spirit. Simply say “Santa, have I been nice?” or “Santa, have I been naughty?” into your Sky TV remote for an honest answer about your chances of receiving presents. Meanwhile, commanding “Santa, tell me a joke” will see the TV treat you to a festive quip.

If you do not own a Sky product, fear not – you can still keep tabs on Father Christmas through an alternative route. NORAD’s Track Santa website and app allows you to follow Saint Nick’s flight across the globe and chart the exact number of gifts he has delivered.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) has shared real-time tracking of Santa’s sleigh every year since its creation in 1950s. The much-loved tradition begun in 1955 when a misprint in a department store advert prompted a child to call a Colorado military command centre in a bid to speak with Santa Claus.

The colonel who answered pretended to be Santa and as more calls flooded in, he assigned an officer to handle the festive queries. This ultimately led to the creation of a dedicated Santa-tracking unit when NORAD was established in 1958.
