Christmas Day is just around the corner, and with it comes the inevitable rush to complete last-minute shopping, food preparation, and present wrapping.

Food content creator and cookbook author Nate Anthony, better known by his TikTok handle Bored of Lunch, has been prepping his followers for the festive season.

He’s been sharing easy and delicious recipes that require minimal effort. Earlier this month, Nate revealed his quick and tasty vegetable recipe to add some pizzazz to your Christmas sides, giving one of the most beloved seasonal vegetables a delightful twist.

For those tired of the standard boiled carrots, Nate’s innovative recipe uses basic ingredients you’re likely to have on hand from your Christmas food shop. And, he’s made sure to keep prep time short.

Nate’s cooking suggestion even incorporates the latest kitchen must-have: an air fryer. Just get the carrots ready, and they need only 12 minutes in the air fryer before they’re perfectly cooked – a real time-saver during the Christmas meal hustle.

If you’re scrambling for some last-minute ideas for your festive side dishes, it won’t require much effort. There’s just enough time to dash out for any last-minute Christmas food shopping.

Air fryer honey and bacon-wrapped carrots

Ingredients

10-12 baby carrots

50g honey

1 packet of streaky bacon

Chopped nuts

Rosemary twigs to garnish

Method

Microwave the carrots for five minutes to soften them, eliminating the need to boil.

However, if you prefer, you can boil the carrots until they are tender. Wrap each of the baby carrots in bacon then drizzle with honey.

Place the carrots in the air fryer, air frying for 12 minutes at 190°C. Once cooked, garnish the carrots with the herbs and nuts.

Serve immediately with your Christmas dinner – enjoy!
