If you need a showstopper for your festive gathering, there’s an easy recipe taking TikTok by storm.
Anna, of the TikTok channel @anna_louisa_at_home, demonstrated how to create this cute treat in her video, giving it the introduction: “Another idea for a ‘bring a board night’ or just an extra little something for the Christmas table.”
She assured her audience that they’re “surprisingly easy” to make, revealing that the basis of the recipe comes courtesy of Jus-Roll’s ready made puff pastry but with a genius twist; the addition of Biscoff spread.
The tutorial continued with Anna arranging the puff pastry in a tree shape and topping it off with a tasty pastry star.
To begin, Anna instructed: “Preheat the oven to 200C (180C for fan-assisted ovens)/Gas Mark 6. Unroll the pastry sheet, cut off a quarter from the length and set aside.”
Spreading Biscoff across the larger part of the pastry is the next step. To craft the branches, she advised using a sharp knife to “cut strips of pastry from the shorter side, approximately 2cm wide”.
Anna continued: “Carefully pick up a strip of pastry and fold back and forth on itself, starting wider at the bottom (5-6cm) and narrower at the top, like a Christmas tree (see video for reference).”
Lastly, she instructs: “Take a wooden skewer and push through the middle of each layer, making sure the layers are spread out evenly. Leave enough skewer at the top for the stars”
“Stamp out small stars from the remaining pastry with a small cookie cutter. Skewer a star onto the top of each tree.”
Then, once all the prep is over, you should place the trees on a baking sheet and bake them for 12-15 minutes, until they’re “puffed up and golden”.
When serving, don’t forget to “sprinkle with a light dusting of icing sugar”. for that snowy look.
In the comments section, one foodie recommended trying the recipe with “cinnamon and Nutella”, calling them her “favourite”.
“Oh my gosh this looks amazing,” another user exclaimed. Another foodie said: “Now imagine that with cinnamon sugar on top.”
