A Hearts supporter has been ejected and arrested over an alleged racist incident at Tynecastle.

Sky Sports’ Luke Shanley broke the news live on air before the second half got back underway as he detailed the situation. It came after Hibs’ opener was eventually confirmed following a lengthy VAR check. The Jambos confirmed a fan had been kicked out the ground over the alleged incident with it now a live police matter.

He said: “There was an alleged racist comment made towards Hibernian substitutes in the Hibernian dugout. A fan has been ejected and Hearts have confirmed this in statement by saying: ‘The club can confirm a supporter has been ejected from the stadium and arrested in relation to an alleged incident of racism. The club condemns racism and any abusive behaviour. It will not comment further on active police matters.”

Pundit Kris Boyd added: “100 per cent. I think it is obviously in the hands of the police now and rightly so. It is a disgrace. 2024, nearly 2025 and we are still speaking about this. Fair play to Hearts.”
