North Lanarkshire Council have confirmed a series of road closures in January in Shotts and Newmains.
The council have confirmed the B7010 Main Street, from its junction with B717 Burnbrae Road eastwards to its junction with Sandyvale Avenue, will be closed on January 14 for Scottish Water network improvement works to be carried out.
Vehicular and pedestrian access will be permitted where practical during the closure.
Vehicles on the west side of the closure wishing access to the east side of the closure should proceed via B717 Burnbrae Road, A71 Allanton Road, A71, Stane Road and B7010 Main Street.
Vehicles on the east side of the closure wishing access to the west side of the closure should proceed vice versa.
Meanwhile, Murdstoun Road in Bonkle will be closed from 10pm on January 15 to 7am on January 17 for essential road bridge maintenance to be carried out.
Vehicles on the south-east side of the closure wishing access to the north-west side of the closure should travel via Murdostoun Road, Bonkle Road, Allanton Road, Mill Road, Foulburn Road and Murdostoun Road.
Vehicles on the north- west side of the closure wishing access to the south-east side of the closure should proceed vice versa.
There is a low bridge on the diversion route, however, clearance is greater than bridge at point of closure.
Finally, in Newmains, Abernethyn Road, from its junction with Muirhouse Avenue, will be temporarily closed from January 25 to 29 for telecommunication network upgrade works to be carried out.
Vehicle’s on the west side of the closure wishing access to the east side of the closure should proceed via Muirhouse Avenue, Bonkle Road, Alcath Road, Firtree Road and Abernethyn Road.
Vehicles on the east side of the closure wishing access to the west side of the closure should proceed vice versa.
