A trio of Monklands roads will close for works next month, with drivers urged to take note of diversions ahead of time.

Nisbet Street in Chapelhall, from A73 Main Street to 45m east, will be shut for five days from January 8.

Scottish Water will be carrying out work and alternative routes for motorists will include the A73 Main Street, Burniebrae Road, Bowhousebrae Road, Craigens Road, Gartness Road, and Lawhope Mill Road.

Carriageway resurfacing works on behalf of North Lanarkshire Council will see Lomond Road in Coatbridge close for five days from January 13.

The closure will run between the road’s property 61 and Townhead Road/Gartsherrie Road.

The latter two roads and Lochview Road will be available as diversions.

And Coatbridge’s Albany Street, from Blair Road to Torrisdale Street, will also shut for five days from January 27.

This is for the replacement of an underground gas apparatus on behalf of SGN and diverted routes will be Blair Road, Lefroy Street and Torrisdale Street.
