Police have ramped up searches for a missing tourist last seen at a Scots beauty spot on Christmas Eve.
Officers are conducting searches in gardens, sheds and outbuildings during the hunt for Marc Drostle, who has been missing for over two weeks. Marc Drostle left London and headed to Aviemore, in the Highlands, on December 12.
Several sightings of him have since been reported in the Abernethy National Nature Reserve, near Nethy Bridge, between Thursday, December 19 and Saturday, December 21. The last sighting of the 28-year-old was in Anagach woods, Grantown, around 3pm on Tuesday, December 24.
He has not been seen or heard from since. Police say they are becoming increasingly concerned for Marc’s welfare.
A team of search and rescue dogs have also been drafted into the ongoing operation. Images shared by Search and Rescue Dog Association show a pack of dogs combing through the Aviemore area during the hunt for Marc.
Marc is described as white, around 5ft 9in tall, slim build, with dark hair. He is believed to be wearing a black puffer jacket and carrying a blue rucksack.
Inspector Ross McCartney said: “Concern for Marc’s wellbeing continues to grow and we are appealing to anyone with any information on where he may be to come forward. We also ask people to check gardens, sheds and outbuildings in case he has sought shelter.
“Anyone with sightings or information of where Marc may be should call Police Scotland on 101 and quote reference 1774 of 21 December.”
A statement from Search and Rescue Dog Association reads: “Today search dogs Sgiath and Gwen deployed to continue searches in the Aviemore area for a missing person at the request of Police Scotland and worked alongside HM Coastguard.”
