WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. – Although Christmas is over, holiday festivities are still ongoing at The Greenbrier resort.
The Beckley Dance Theatre will be performing The Nutcracker at The Greenbrier this upcoming week. This has been a tradition between The Greenbrier and the theatre since 1989, and will be open to the public.
The owner of Beckley Dance Theatre School, Jerry Rose, said it’s exciting to bring this show, which features a mix of nationalities, to West Virginians.
“The Nutcracker story was written by a Frenchman, and it is about a German family, and it’s Russian music. And we’re West Virginians performing this international piece of art,” explained Rose. “And to me that’s very exciting, and we want to do Tchaikovsky’s music justice, and to bring the story of the European Christmas to the people here in West Virginia.”
The show will be performed on Dec. 29 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 30 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets can be reserved by calling the resort concierge.
