Two men have been arrested after a teenage boy was allegedly raped near to a Harry Ramsden’s restaurant. The 19-year-old reported being approached by two strangers near the popular fish and chip eatery in Old Steine, Brighton, at around 3.30am on Saturday December 21.
The Mirror reports the alleged incident then took place in the nearby Steine Lane shortly afterwards. A passer-by called Sussex Police, who say the teen is continuing to receive support from specialist officers.
Now it has emerged two arrests have been made as investigations are ongoing. A 40-year-old man from Redhill, Surrey, was apprehended in Esher, and a 42-year-old man from Chessington, Kingston-Upon-Thomas, was arrested in Ramsgate, Kent.
The pair were arrested on Boxing Day, Thursday December 26, on suspicion of rape and remain in police custody.
Detective Inspector Sean Booth said: “These arrests were as a direct result of excellent work from our dedicated team of staff, officers and the public. We are still urging anyone with information about this incident to contact police online, or by calling 101, quoting Operation Attach.”
