Police have launched an appeal to trace a man who vanished from a Scots town in a red Jeep.

Leonard McKague, 62, has been reported missing from Strathaven.

He was last seen around 2pm on Saturday, December 2024 in the town’s Strathaven Road and has not been in contact with his family ever since.

Officers believe when he was last seen he was driving a red Jeep registration SA71 YPC. Leonard is described as being 5ft 6 inches in height, slim build, short, fair, thinning hair. When last seen he was wearing jeans and a navy blue jumper.

Concerns are growing over Leonard’s welfare.

Inspector David Connor said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Leonard’s welfare and are keen to trace him as soon as possible.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have seen Leonard or has any has information regarding his whereabouts to contact us. I would also appeal directly to Leonard himself, if you see this appeal, please let us know you are safe.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 3059 of 28 December, 2024.”
