According to Texas DPS, the outage forced some offices to close early on Monday.

AUSTIN, Texas — An ongoing outage impacting the Texas Department of Public Safety has forced some of their offices to close early.

According to a statement from DPS, their offices were already scheduled to be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday for the holiday. The outage also forced driver’s license offices to close early on Monday.

DPS did not reveal the cause of the outage and said its staff is working with those impacted to reschedule their appointments as soon as possible. The DPS website reportedly had issues throughout the morning with an error message displayed on its website saying the site could not be reached.

KVUE reached out to DPS about the outage but never heard back.

There is currently no timeline on when the system will return.
