An ex-Rangers youth player has been injured in a crash, his club has announced.
Hamilton Accies say they are ‘immensely saddened’ by the news that midfielder Ben Williamson, 23, was involved in the road traffic incident.
The club passed on their best wishes to Ben’s family in this ‘difficult time’. It is not known when the incident took place or the extent of the injuries sustain by Williamson.
A spokesperson for the Championship side said: “Everyone at Hamilton Academical Football Club are immensely saddened by the news of the injuries sustained by Ben Williamson in a road traffic accident.
“Our thoughts are very much with him at this difficult time.”

Ben signed for Rangers in 2020 and after loan spells at Arbroath, Livingston, Raith Rovers, Dundee and Partick Thistle he left in January and signed for Hamilton Accies.
He has gone on to play 32 games for Accies since signing and played a key role in the club’s promotion to the Scottish Championship.
