A man has appeared in court charged with murder more than a year after Amy Rose Wilson was killed in a crash in Falkirk.

Arsian Sajid, 23, from London, was arrested at Stansted International Airport on Friday, December 27. He appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Monday, December 30, and made no plea.

He is the fourth person to be arrested in connection with Ms Wilson’s death. Three others have also been charged and have previously appeared in court.

Sajid faces a number of charges including murder, attempted murder, danger to life, attempted robbery, attempting to defeat the ends of justice, assault and conspiracy. He is also charged with several road traffic offences. The 23-year-old was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

Ms Wilson, originally from Newcastle, died aged 27 after her silver Vauxhall Vectra crashed with a Volkswagen Tiguan on New Carron Road at around 6.10pm on July 29, 2023. A black C-Class Mercedes fled the scene and was later recovered abandoned.

The passenger, a 22-year-old man, was taken to hospital and later arrested on an unrelated matter and released pending further enquiries. Three others were charged in the weeks after the incident in 2023.

Anthony Davidson, 31, and Andrew Gregorie, 28, who both resided in London, are due to stand trial in March next year charged with murder. Steven Hornsby, 54, from Canvey Island, Essex, is accused of trying to defeat the ends of justice in the incident, which he denies.

Following the arrest last week, Police Scotland said: “The fatal incident took place around 6.10pm on Saturday, 29 July, 2023. It involved a silver Vauxhall Vectra and a black Volkswagen Tiguan. A black C-Class Mercedes left the scene and was later recovered abandoned. Amy Rose, aged 27, was the driver of the Vauxhall and pronounced dead at the scene.
