Aldi shoppers are set for a significant change in all UK stores from today, Monday December 30. The budget retailer’s latest news comes ahead of the New Year.

In less than two days’ time we will welcome 2025, and January 1 is a time when many embark on New Year’s resolutions. While some will set goals for the whole twelve months, others will opt for the month-long challenge known as Veganuary.

The popular initiative sees people go without meat, eggs and dairy products for 31 days. In support of those taking part, Aldi is rolling out its largest-ever vegan range, with prices starting at £1.49, with all items in stores from today.

An Aldi spokesperson said: “Whether shoppers are looking to go fully plant based or make a couple of meat-free swaps, Aldi’s range of new and returning Plant Menu products has shoppers covered for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And with prices starting from just £1.49, there is a lot to like at Aldi this Veganuary.”

The new line-up includes intriguing items such as kimchi koftas, tempura frickles (deep-fried gherkins), and even a plant-based substitute for ‘egg’. Additionally, Aldi presents a no-seafood alternative to smoked salmon, as well as ‘no chicken’ smash burgers, and kebabs with salt and pepper ‘no chicken’ versions.

For cheese fans, the range also boasts a vegan cheese continental selection with four different plant-based cheeses, and meat-free takes on deli classics: ‘no pepperoni’, ‘no chorizo’, and ‘no salami’
