King Charles is reportedly “frustrated with Prince Andrew” over the Duke of York’s financial affairs, a Royal expert has claimed. Despite questions about his income sources, Andrew secured his stay at the Royal Lodge in November, and it remains uncertain if he has informed the King about his financial situation.

Royal commentator Gareth Russell told GB News that this issue is causing friction within the Royal Family. He said: “There’s a great deal of mystery, whether he’s told the King or not. Certainly, the King has made it very clear what he wants to happen.”

Although King Charles is said to have suggested that Andrew move to Frogmore Cottage, previously occupied by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke has stayed put at the Royal Lodge. Russell speculated that it might soon become apparent if King Charles demands further details on Prince Andrew’s finances.

He continued: “But at the minute, I think it’s very clear to all of us that the King is quite frustrated with the way this has played out.”

Prince Andrew has been residing at the 30-room Windsor residence since 2003, after Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother passed away, the Express reports.

With a security bill running into millions annually, the lease agreement for the property isn’t set to expire until 2078. Andrew does not receive public funds from the Sovereign Grant, leading to speculation about the origins of his wealth.

The Duke draws a Royal Navy pension, but the amount he may have inherited from the late Queen or other family members remains unknown.

His past income includes the sale of his Sunninghill Park home in Ascot to a son-in-law of a former Kazakh president for £15 million in 2007, despite MPs questioning why it sold for £3 million above the asking price.

He also offloaded his ski chalet in Verbier, Switzerland, co-owned with Sarah Ferguson, in 2022.
